A downloadable game

This is a 100% assembly version of Colin The Cleaner, rewritten completely by me using the BASIC original as a reference.

This is currently a BETA release. Feedback welcome!

It should behave almost identically to the original, but without any of its bugs and MUCH, MUCH faster in almost every respect.

It's possible that it may be too fast! It takes a bit of skill to not overshoot the platform edges as it stands right now. It is totally masterable though, and the game can be completed.

I'm curious to see what people make of the result. It was mainly an exercise to get me back into Z80 coding and the Spectrum 48K, but now it's gameplay feature complete (with only a few minor things - like the awful music - missing), I could enhance it if feedback provides a reason to.

Install instructions

This game is presented in .TAP file form. It can be loaded into most ZX Spectrum emulators, and on real Spectrum hardware using SD card expansion cards. It could also be converted to a real tape using TAP2WAV tools found on the web, and loaded that way into original hardware.

Great game and I have a full walkthrough here, although it took me a few attempts to realise you can go up stairs, but not down them... a bit like when I've had a few drinks :D

Nice, thanks! Yeah stairs and drink are not best friends :D

You're very welcome, and I once tripped over a pavement and broke my arm while drunk, so I have first-hand experience :D

Just completed, really enjoyed it. First level is probably the hardest :)
