Moah Speed! (for Platforms)
There is now a V3 of Colin's bug fixed antics for you to try out!
This version includes some new assembly language code, replacing the BASIC platform rendering code. It works in exactly the same way (I basically reimplemented the same algorithm but in Z80 assembly). The speed up between the two is dramatic - and I may do more optimizations like this over time, if anyone is interested in seeing them. For me, it's just a fun exercise in Speccy coding - and why not!
This version shows just how slow it is to rely on PEEKs, POKEs and FOR loops in BASIC to do any kind of operation, let alone drawing to the screen. Assembly is the way to go!
